Viscoelastic model for tensile dislocations

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi all!

I need some suggestions about how to choose the parameter Gi and taui to model the viscoelastic response of an heterogeneous medium to a tensile dislocation source (Okada type). The okada source is modeled as a couple of boundaries having a prescribed displacement imposed.

I don't understand well which is the criterion to choose for the number of couples spring-dashpots of the generalized Maxwell model (I mean , do I need to have always more than one branch?) and how to choose the values to use.

Many thanks beforehand.

Fabio.
