inter-node communication during cluster execution

Hi,

While simulating a job in shared-memory model on multiple physical nodes, I noticed on ganglia that the full CPU resources at each node are not always engaged in solving the model. May be it is a characteristic of my model or (MUMPS) solver. But could it be that Comsol might be using the inefficient ethernet channels for inter-node communications? Our cluster supports infiniband channel for faster communication and I would like to know if there is a way to enable it in case it is not enabled by default?

Attached is ganglia's output.

Thanks
