How COMSOL Multiphysics can Help Build Better Products
COMSOL allows the researcher or designer to couple many physics phenomena at once and create multiphysics models. Being able to bring in every applicable aspect of physics into a virtual model is what makes the simulation “real” enough to accurately represent what the actual product would look and act like.
For instance, not being able to couple the laws describing fluid dynamics with structural mechanics would stop you from being able to model fluid-structural interaction (FSI) type problems – such as MEMS-based sensors, energy harvesting, metal forming processes, etc. In COMSOL Multiphysics you can.

I see that the modelling interface has changed considerably from 3.5 to 4.I do really miss the drawing part.comsol could do something to make the new geometry and oundary specification window more or less like the 3.5 version.3.5 was graded and one at a time knd of thig even if t was less advanced I still like it better overall.

Thank you for your feedback. We believed that the new structure and GUI would provide better ease-of-use in many different ways for all of the different steps of the modeling workflow. For example, the boundary conditions dialog box is now part of the whole COMSOL Desktop as people complained that is was always in the way when they wanted to look at, and specify boundaries, in the model underneath it. Also, I think you’ll find that all the previous drawing abilities that were available with 3.5a are still there, even if it’s not done in the same way. I think once you get used to it, you’ll appreciate a lot of the added functionality.
