Researching with the Acoustics Module
This module lets you simulate acoustic-wave propagation in air and water and then couple these seamlessly with other physics such as in acoustics-structure interaction. Included are:

The logarithm of pressure inside an aircraft jet engine.
- Unlimited multiphysics modeling—Coupling the Acoustics Module to COMSOL Multiphysics and its modules allows for the unlimited modeling of devices such as speakers, microphones, and hearing aids from the audio industry as well as muffler design, sound barriers, and building acoustics in noise-control applications
- Structural analysis—The module can compute, for linear elastic materials, static and dynamic responses, as well as modal and damped modal analyses along with frequency-response and parametric analyses
- Aeroacoustic flow—Application modes for aeroacoustics and compressible potential flow are available. Furthermore, a pre-defined multiphysics coupling of these two application modes makes for easy modeling of such systems
- Equation-based modeling—The arbitrary inclusion of nonlinear material properties or boundary conditions, such as specific damping factors, allows for complete flexibility when modeling acoustics applications
