Basic questions about ewfd in wave optics.

I noticed several examples about waveguides, such as *step_index_fiber_bend *, do not have incentive port. All the boundary is PEC. How come? Where does the electric field or incident wave come from? Is that because ewfd has its own way to excite a wave so we do not need to add one? Thanks very much!

I don't have that particular module, but I am willing to bet that the example you are mentioning is configured to perform mode analyses. There is a "step index fiber" application in the RF module which is a mode-finding model. In that case, there is no need for a user-supplied port. You are simply finding the modes.
