Error: You must specify the source.
I do not understand this error.

I have only one kind of physics selected, conjugate heat transfer.

I have two separated domains, each with a solid piece between them. The domains are bounded by Temperature & Inlet, Outlet & Outflow, and Wall, so the boundaries are complete.

I am confused, I see no mention of this error on the internet. Please help.

2-D plate model

Hi,

I am trying to build simple model to analyse the eigenfrequencies of a freely vibrating irregularly-shaped 2-D plate. I have selected the plate model in the structural mechanics module. The shape I have imported from a .dxf CAD file. I have around 8000 elements, an amount which I believe to suffice.

When I try to solve my model all I get is an error of undefined value in the stiffness matrix. For a 3-D square plate with the same settings, everything seems to be working fine.

Can someone help me detect what have I forgotten in this model, because it does not work?

Guidance to solve Heat transfer analysis problem (comsol 4.0)

Hi,

My name is Fahid Amin and I have a heat transfer problem to solve. I have a box enclosing a fuel cell system and in which there are sources of heat generation like stack, circuit board along with dissipator, a pump which adds heat in the box when it is running. the box which contain fuel cell system is internally cold using forced convection. the exit flow rate of air is 0.052 m3/sec. But when I try to compute the solution I get an error of maximum number of newton iterations has reached.

I have tried to solve this problem using laminar flow . Please guide me how can i solve it for flow rate of 0.052m3/sec.

Thanking you in advance.

Yours truly,
Error: Circular variable dependency detected

Hi. Please help me with this error message, I I'm just discovering the C4 version,

Error: Circular variable dependency detected

The geometry is a coaxial cable, in 3d, simulated in time domain.
Looks like the error is in the definition of the time variable applied to the excitation port.

Any hint?

Thanks
Solver Error

Hi,

i got the following error:

NaN or Inf found when solving linear system using MUMPS (comsol 4.0)

Does anybody know why this error message can happen and what do I have to adjust in the settings to solve it?

Thanks a lot for your time,
Out of memory during LU factorization

Hi there,

I am a new member in the COMSOL community. I am trying to solve a simple 3D problem having diffusion and chemical reaction within the subdomain. However, I am getting this message "out of memory during LU factorization." Is my computer running out of memory to solve this particular problem or should I use a better solver to solve this problem? Could anyone share his/her experiences with COMSOL?

Many thanks,
